How can I add a genre to my novel?
Setting your genre in Novelcrafter.

When writing with AI, setting the genre is a great way to set the tone, and ensure that the prose is aligned with genre expectations.
Whilst a genre mention alone isn’t enough to draft perfect prose, it is a good first step.
We recommend that you set the genre via a global codex entry, and we have created a quick create button to aid in this.
- In the side panel, go to the codex
- Click the new entry button
- At the very bottom, you will see under quick create, the option to choose story genre. Click this.
- Your codex entry is made. Fill in the description with your genre - the more specific, the better
