Extract
How to extract information from the chat interface to use in codex entries, beats, and more.
One of the most powerful features of the chat interface is the ability to extract from the messages straight into your work. Brainstorming characters? You can take the responses and generate codex entries from them. Want to create story beats? You can take the generated beats and copy them in the format needed for the write interface.
The extract feature makes brainstorming and writing easier and takes away some of the effort required - so a win-win, right?
How do I extract content?

In the chat interface, go to the bottom of a message. There in the bottom you can find the extract button.
What can I extract?
There are currently three sections the extract feature feeds into:
Codex Entries (either as new entries or replacing old entries)

Chapters (added at the end of the current outline in the plan interface)

Scene Beats (you will need to paste these into the relevant chapter yourself)

Is specific formatting needed to extract?
The extract feature is designed to be tolerant of different formats, however there are a few limitations. If you are struggling to extract Codex entries, try using the following message:
Please reformat the list of characters/locations/etc. into the following format:
Name (aliases, nicknames) [tag, tag2]: A detailed description of the entry.
Feel free to use multiline descriptions.
If you use a list within the description, do not bold the list entry:
